Welcome Week 2008

The Helene G. Simon Hillel Center is excited to welcome the Freshman Class of 2012 to Indiana University this fall and welcome back our returning students! Come to any of our welcome week programs listed below to learn more about what Hillel has to offer, meet other Jewish students, and get some Free Food! We are here as a resource for you...please don't hesitate to contact us!

  • Tuesday, September 2nd - Tie Dye and S' Mores Night @ McNutt
    7:00pm - Bring a t-shirt and get creative with other students and tie-dye.
  • Wednesday, September 3rd - Pizza Party @ Teter Quad at 7:00pm
  • Wednesday, September 3rd - Ice Cream Social @ Foster Quad
    9:00pm - Join us at Foster for an Ice Cream Social! Meet new and returning students and learn more about Jewish life at IU.
  • Thursday, September 4th - A Taste of IJew @ Hillel at 4:00pm
  • Friday, September 5th - First Shabbat of the Year @ Hillel
    5:30pm- Don't know where Hillel is? Join more than 300 students to walk from McNutt Quad.
    6:30pm- Reform, Conservative, and Orthodox Services or an Alternative Experience.
    7:30pm- Following services, stay around for a FREE home cooked Shabbat dinner!
  • Saturday, September 6th - IU vs. Murray State Tailgate
    Join us two hours before kickoff for tailgating at the stadium parking lot (17th and Fee Lane). Come get a Kosher hot dog before the game!
  • Saturday, September 6th
    The following events are canceled due to a time conflict with the IU Football Game and will be rescheduled.
    Get "Baked" Havdalah with Hillel and Go Bowling
    Havalah @ 9pm, Bowling @ 10pm. Meet at Hillel

  • Sunday September 7th
    10am- Reds-Cubs Game in Cincinnati, Meet at Hillel to carpool.
    5pm - Graduate Student BBQ at Hillel
    7pm- 10th & College BBQ
